Adam Blumenthal, Proprietor of Tannen's Magic, Highlighted on the "Magical Thinking" Podcast3/17/2017 Adam Blumenthal, the owner of Tannen's magic store, participates in a lengthy interview on the podcast Magical Thinking. Adam speaks about a wide range of topics that relate to the New York City magic scene and the history of magic in New York. He discusses the heritage of Tannen's as well as his own involvement with the store prior to owning it and his concept of the role that the store plays in educating magicians. He also talks about his work as a lighting designer, including stories about working with Ricky Jay, Derek DelGaudio and other magicians. Adam also discusses at length his own ideas and concepts of magic. Tannen's is an important nexus of activity in the New York magic scene, and it is intriguing to listen to the thoughtful and contemplative perspectives of the person who is keeping it vital decades after it was founded. Although Blumenthal is the focus of the interview he is joined in the conversation by magician Ricky Smith. The Magical Thinking podcast is presented by The Art of Magic and is hosted by Elliott Terral.
