The Academy of Magical Arts is the nonprofit organization which operates The Magic Castle, a private club for magicians in Hollywood, California. Each year it presents a series of awards recognizing achievement in magic. The Lifetime Achievement Fellowship and the AMA's other awards will be presented this year at the Orpheum Theater in Downtown, Los Angeles.

For decades he also has been deeply involved with the local New York City chapter." George Schindler is an American stage magician, magic consultant, comedian, actor, ventriloquist and writer based in New York. He has been a fixture on the magic scene, on TV, in film and performing at venues around the world. He serves as the Lifetime Dean of the Society of American Magicians, founded The School for Magicians in the ’70s, and has penned several noted books on the art of magic. Among his many other performances and accomplishments includes an appearance as a magician in the Woody Allen film Oedipus Wrecks.
