The Card Magic of Nick Trost
The book is filled with hard-hitting, sophisticated card tricks that are accomplished mostly with methods other than sleight-of-hand. Because sleights are de-emphasized the magician can focus on presentational aspects of the performance. Among the great effects taught is "Intuition." While the magician is turned away, the spectator turns a randomly selected card face up in a deck. The magician turns his own card in a second deck. As the spectator and magician then flip one by one through the cards in their respective decks it is discovered that they each flipped the same card - located in the same location in the deck. It's an outcome that seems utterly impossible through any means other than intuition! Nearly every time you open this book you will come across a different intriguing and very workable effect. It is an influential and highly-regarded work that is on its way to status as a card magic classic. Includes an appendix that explains most of the sleights and subtleties needed for the tricks in the book. Hardback, 331 pages.
