Penn & Teller appeared Thursday in conversation at The TimesCenter, the Eighth Avenue venue located in the first floor of The New York Times's headquarters building at 41st Street. As part of the publication's series of TimesTalk events, the duo participated in a conversation with Eric Piepenburg, an editor in the paper's Culture department. Among the topics covered were the team's Broadway show, how they work together, the intellectual and artistic intent of their work, their interest in skepticism and atheism, their use of the macabre, and their relationship to truthfulness. The duo also performed three pieces from their repertoire, reminding the audience of the sharp performing skills and compelling ideas that have kept them at the forefront of their art since gaining widespread visibility in the 1980s.
